Q: Why is my airplay lagging when I connect with my apple TV, ad how can I fix this?

I can connect my Mac book Pro, running 10.8.3 to my apple TV. However, it is very laggy and does not stream well at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?

close programs on the mac you are not using
get a faster internet router to be sure it's not the bottleneck
