My apple tv with software version 5.2.1 won't activate

I have a new apple tv and i find trouble activating it, it just won't past that step....reading a bit about this issue i found that maybe updating its software would do it....stayed the same, i also remove the firewall protection from my router settings because i also read something about opening port 123....i restarted many times using even googles dns ip address....i dont know what else can i try...please someone help me!!

It sounds like your Apple TV is having some trouble connecting to the internet. You've taken some good troubleshooting steps so far, the following may also be helpful:


Apple TV: Basic troubleshooting

Go to the Settings menu on Apple TV, select General then Network, and make sure Apple TV has a valid IP address. If it starts with 169.x.x.x, then the router or base station may not be configured properly.
