External Hard Drive problems through Airport Extreme Base Station.

I am having problems connecting an External Hard Drive to the base station and seeing the proper volume. As well as being able to see it as a drive in windows. I have formatted the drive to HFS+ and am using Macdrive to read it. when its attached to my computer I can see it fine but when I attach it to the Basestation i can only see it in Airport utilites and I can only see it as a drive with 0 bytes for volume. It is a 2 Tb Western Digital My Passport External HD.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
