Connecting new JBL Creature II speakers

I'm a little confused I suppose. I'm finally getting around to setting these speakers up for my iMac & after reading support for both the iMac & speakers, am I correct in assuming that the speaker jack hooks into optical out port on the back of the iMac? Are there any internal adjustments I need to make on the iMac or should this just be plug &play which is the main reason I bought them>

Hello Debbie,

The manufacturer's page says that it is compatible with all PC's and Mac's, and also MP3 players, and Walkman's.

So, that means it has a standard mini-stereo Analog audio jack on it.

The jack on the back of the iMac G5 is a combination Analog / Digital Audio jack.

So, yes all you need to do is plug it in, and start using it.

The iMac G5 will automatically recognize and use any external speakers you plug into it.

So, go for it, and have fun 🙂

By the way, they look like great speakers 🙂

I figured as much, but if you want your chuckle for the day & I'm laughing at how mechanically dyslexic I can be sometimes. I was punching the wrong button to power them up. It really helps to go back & read the manual. Yes , they seem to be very good speakers. The only reason I bought them was on found them on sale at amazon for $65. Thanks for they help.

Directions????

What are those 😉

We got a new gas barbecuer today. I just set the propane bottle in-place, connected the hose, and was ready to fire it up.

My wife wouldn't let me.

She insisted on reading the directions first.

So, I had her read the directions to make sure I set it up right, and then she read the directions on how to start it.

I told her all you have to do is open the gas valve, and push the lighter button. And, if it doesn't blow-up, it works.

But, she just wouldn't let me start it.

So, I guess we'll find out at dinner time if I did it right. Hope the directions are right 😉

Otherwise, I'll have to start it for her 😉

Now, where is that lighter. Just need to let some gas out and apply a flame right 😉

But, yes, sometimes the directions can be helpful when something doesn't work right. O.K., I guess I should say "When it doesn't work the way you think it should" 😉

Yes , they seem to be very good speakers.

That sounds like a great price. Glad you found such a bargain.
