There are some known issues that outlook 2011 cannot import from apple mail,

But as you have mentioned that you use 10.8.3, then there sould not be any problem following Peter's post.

Now later you have replied that you are getting blank folder, so there is some hickups in your apple mail or outlook 2011.

Still its your choice to go for the app.

Not with a POP system.
