I bought a gift card and sent it to my son's email address in Ghana to use on his iPhone to purchase a book from amazon bought he did not receive it in his mail. How can we retrieve the $15 gift card, as I had confirmation that it has been sent.

I sent a $15 gift card which I purchased as a gift on the apps store and sent to my son's email address in Ghana to be used on his iPhone to purchase books from Amazon, but he has not received it. How do we retrieve this gift card?

iTunes gift cards can only be used to purchase content from the iTunes store, App Store, ibookstore and the Mac App Store - they can't be used on Amazon or other sites. They are also country-specific i.e. they can only be used in their country of issue on iTunes accounts based in that country.

This explains how to resend a gift card. As long as the code hasn't been redeemed, I think this may work.

But as King Penguin suggested - this is only good for the country that you are in and will not work for Amazon.

If you are not in Ghana - send the card back to yourself or to anyone in your country that might be able to use it.
