Will late 2012 iMac memory work in a March 2009 iMac?

Just bought a new 27" imac. Installed 32 GB ram and have the orginal 8 GB (2 sticks) left over. I have a March 2009 iMac which will take up to 8 GB ram. Will the ram from the new iMac work in the 2009 iMac?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Brandon, Thank you for replying to VaMichael's question. I had a similar question. I have a Late 2009 iMac which uses PC3-8500 1066 Mhz DDR3 RAM. Recently I purchased the iMac 5K which uses PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM. Since I upgraded the memory of my 5K to 32GB, I now have 2x4GB PC3-12800 as spare. I was wondering if I could install it in the Late 2009 iMac. Thanks to your answer I am not going to. VaMichael, Thank you for asking this question.
