Can someone please help me? I would like to know how I go about updating from Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 to the latest one available.

I'm not a very confident user of my computer when it comes to updating or installing new software. I have not long brought an i phone and it tells me that it is not compatible with my Mac. I have been told that I have to go thru every update till I get to the latest one ... is this true?

You need to check that your Mac has an Intel CPU, click here, buy and install the DVD, and then run the 10.6.8 combo updater. You don't need to run the intermediate updaters or upgrade past 10.6.8.
