Q: I do not want save very many messages. I delete them from the regular in box and they go to trash. When I eliminate them from trash, they are in all-mail. How do I keep them from going to all-mail? Can I dump them in one step?

What is the use of trash if all-mail stores the mail?

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your gmail account] and turn off Archive Messages.

Thanks for your reply. However, I had my I-Pad at that setting and it did not work. I suppose that I'll have to erase by hand. Do you happen to know if it's possible to erase multiple files at once? Thanks again. Lelchuk34

Generally Trash folders on iPad do let you erase all of the messages at one time. Click Edit while in the Trash folder and see if you get a "Delete All" option on the bottom.
