Computer won't accept user password

Hi everyone!

I've been having some problem with my computer being slow for a long time. I finally decided yesterday to completely delete everything from my hard disk and reinstalling the programs. I reinstalled the Mac OS X version 10.6.3 with the disk i got when i bought the computer. When the computer asked me to migrate software from an old computer I decided to only migrate my profile from my time capsule, since I didn't want to risk getting the program's that made it slow in the first place back on again. Now when the computer asks me to log on to the user it won't accept my password, although it should be the same as the old one. The hint that pops up (which I wrote as a reminder when I bought the computer years ago) also indicates that I am typing the right password, but it just won't work!

I hope someone has the answer for this

Sincerely

David
