hi there, my apple ipod classic has stopped working , have tried all apple's help section and still nothing on screen anyone else had this and can you help me.

Hi there my Ipod classic has just stopped working, no lights to indicate if charged fully etc but I put it on docking station (which works as tested my iphone on it so know it's not that) and it played half a song and just seemed to die! Have tried charging on computer and electrical socket and nothing happens, tried instructions to reset ie holding down menu and select button etc but still no lights, no apple sign, the screen is just blank?
