Yellow Dog Linux on IMac G5 question

Has anyone with a 1st gen Imac G5 successfully installed and ran Yellow Dog linux 4.1? Everytime I tried to run YD Linux, it would get to the Linux login screen then my keyboard and mouse would stop working. When I restarted back into Mac OS 10.4.6, the keyboard and mouse worked as normal. I did the partitioning for linux with Drive Genius, setting the Apple Bootstrap, the Swap partition was set to the max amount of ram in the Imac and the third partition, for the system, was set to 30 gigs. YD Linux runs great on my Ibook G3 900mhz that is partitioned and has both Linux and Mac OS 10.4.6. Anyone have ideas on this?

Imac G5 20 1.8Ghz, Ibook G3 900Mhz, Mac OS X (10.4.6)
