I am actually ditching apple altogether and switching to android because of this. It's rendered my devices unusable and is absolutely out of order for apple to not have come up with a fix at all... good luck to those waiting for a solution, it may never come without going to iOS7 which will slow your devices down hugely you're going to have to buy a new one or better yet, ditch it.

Yep, me too. I have JUST wiped my ipad2 and installed the update - immediately I noticed a problem with wifi that it has never had before. Grrrrr...

Same problem here. At home I solved it with a huge antenna, but outside home I cannot pick up signals unless they are really strong. My wife has a Nexus 7, works with no problems in hotspots that I cannot connect. I guess that is the final solution for the problem, switch to android.

My issue: Suddenly, after updating to iOS 6.1.3, my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 will only see my wifi network when they are within 10 feet of router.

My Details: I have an AT&T 2Wire modem/router to feed U-Verse to an Apple wireless network originating from an Airport Express with two AE extenders. I have an iMac, a Windows laptop, two iPhone 4 phones, a 2nd gen iPad, a 3rd gen iPad, and an iPad mini all connecting to the network. The network was setup to be 802.11 b/g compatible. After updating the iPad 2 and one iPhone 4 to 6.1.3, those devices began having the wifi issues. They won't see the wifi signal outside of 10 feet for both the 2Wire wireless and the Apple wireless.

My Fix: I changed the Apple wireless network to be 802.11n only. Now, iPad 2 and iPhone 4 can get some distance - finally! All the other devices and computers can connect to both the 2Wire 802.11g wifi and the Apple 802.11n wifi.

My NEW Problems: Of the three AEs, one is too old to join an "n" network, so it's unplugged and worthless now. I now have two independent wifi networks in my house, which isn't too much of a problem since most iOS devices hotswap pretty well between trusted networks, but it's not cool when you want to talk to a printer or remote control a cablebox from one of the 802.11n devices. AND I speed tested the 802.11n wifi connection and it is downloading at less than half of the 802.11g connection (upload matches). So, my problematic devices are running slower than the rest. The toss up is that I can get at least SOME wifi in the farthest parts of the house.

Exact same problem here - in fact just switched service providers & got new equipment (router, etc)...did not help. At all.

Old iPad still works like a champ while my iPad 2 w the 6 OS just fails. Do I have to jail break to go back to 5?

    So frustrated

For months I hadn't updated the iPad b/c I didn't have the space for the update, so this past weekend I deleted a lot of stuff just to make room for it, and now I wish I never had. It's constantly losing the wifi signal (literally every 2 or 3 minutes), and it doesn't even pick it back up immediately. I keep having to go into my settings to reconnect it.

SAme problem here. Just updated, and ever since the wifi wont work. How do you uninstall the update?

Add me to the list, when is 6.1.4 coming out and why is apple not doing anything. This thread is the first result when you google iPad wifi issues.

Well, I have an iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.2 (yes, I know) and many of the apps I like required iOS 5 to update. You convinced me not to get iOS 6, thanks. And Apple blocks me from installing iOS 5.1.1 because it's not the newest version. I really think Apple should let you chose the OS version you want.

Thank you guys this explains a lot, my iphone picks up wi-fi, my lapptop picks up wi-fi every other devcie in the house does except the ipad all sat in the same room! So frustrating Apple are obviously aware of the problem.. Sort it out please Apple I would like to have bought my son an ipad mini this christmas but if it is experiencing the same issue I will be spending my money elsewhere.

I just bought my children 3 new Nexus 7s that work for the price of 2 IPad minis that probably don't work. Too bad since we have everything Apple at home including an IPad2 that no longer works on WiFi since the update.

    Hi Guys.

I just had this exact issue and managed to find a fix:

    Go to Settings > Wi-Fi

Turn off Wi-Fi for around 10 - 20 seconds - turn back on and the iPad will recognize your default Wi-Fi and connect.

    Hope this helps!

I have same issue. We have Ipad3, Ipad2, IPhone 4S. The Ipad2 and IPhone 4S have no problems with wifi, but ipad2 only has full bars when I am right next to it. I also had no issues with wifi until last update. Since I am a 24/7 caregiver for my husband, my habits of using ipad haven't changed in 2 years only the ipad wifi connection has changed. Apple please fix this. It's a royal pain in the butt. BTW we also have an IMac and used to have orginal Ipad which we gave away. So... we are an apple family. Please help. I've tried all the "fixes" quoted by everyone to no avaial.
