Choosing disk to backup to in Time Machine
I am trying to set up an external drive for my backups and when I click on "Select Backup Disk" none appears. How do I find my external drive to do this?

Have you looked through Pondini's extensive TM help site?

Can't imagine something not being covered there.
Thanks for the help BDAqua. This has been useful. My challenge now is that I have about 140 GB of video from various vacations and this will get erased if I partition. Is there a way to accomplish this without losing this video or needing to copy it to another location first? Thanks again!
What fomat is it now?
Partitioning would be dangerous to try without a backup copy, perhaps this would accomplish what you want instead of TM... as long as you don't clone the Drive...
