Kensington PocketMouse loses connection

I tend to travel daily with my Powerbook. I've had a wired Kensington mouse I've used for years and I've been very happy with it. However, since my travel has increased lately, I thought I'd buy a Bluetooth mouse for convenience, i.e., it's a bit of pain to stuff the mouse cord in my bag and then untangle it from my power adaptor cord and my iPod headphones cord whenever I get it out of my bag to use it. However, this Bluetooth-enabled Kensington PocketMouse is the most inconvenient device I've used with my computer in years.

The problem is that I need to re-pair the mouse with my laptop each time the mouse and/or computer goes to sleep. I've noticed that many others have experienced this same problem with this brand and others, including the wireless Apple mouse. It's unfortunate that the Bluetooth technology in this case has not lived up to its promise.

I have an internal Bluetooth device in my PB and I also use it daily to sync with my Palm Treo. I've never had a problem with my Treo syncing (except when I've made bonehead mistakes having nothing to do with the technology).

I plan to return the wireless mouse to the store and turn my back on these devices. Since I was simply looking for convenience, I'll learn to live with a few tangled cords.

I have the same mouse and the same problem.
After the computer wakes from sleep or is turned on or restarted, I have to run the Bluetooth Set Up Assistant to re-connect the mouse. This is getting pretty annoying and Apple needs to address this issue. I repeatedly try and save the mouse as a "Favorite" in Bluetooth Preferences in the hopes that bluetooth will store the connection info and bypass having to use the set up assistant, but everytime the computer wakes or is re-booted, the mouse is no longer a "Favorite". I thought the issue might have had to do with Kensington's Mouseworks and I bugged them about it, but they have since updated their software for Mac OS X, so the problem has to be with Apple's bluetooth.
I just want to turn it on and go and not have to set it up EVERY freakin' time I use it.
