Q: Has anyone else out there ever gone to get service at apple and been told they were not covered by warranty even though they had their product (ipod) for less than a year? I was refused service unless I paid.

My message is that Apple support at the apple store is based on dollar making only. they do not help you unless they can sell you the service. Atleast in my case. I bought my Ipod last June 2012, but according to them, It was sold in July 2011. Therefore not eligible for warranty. Thanks Apple.           FROM YOUR FORMER CUSTOMER, ERIC MORALES

iPod classic, Windows Vista, This is my 1st ever apple product..

I had a similar issue. Apple's records had a different "purchased date" than I did. I just sent them a copy of my receipt plus the circled item on my Visa bill and they adjusted the date. A lot of stores are able to print you a duplicate receipt as well.
