Updating my iPod classic

You can't currently connect an iPod to an iPad for syncing content between the two. Whether Apple will ever release something that will allow you to do so nobody on here will know until if/when Apple announce something.

No, what's on iPod classic is also on your computer iTunes.

Connect your iPad to that same computer iTunes, select the items you want and do a sync.
