Ipod wont play

Okay I have a blue ipod mini and a windows Xp, if those details are needed. I was in the car and plugged it into the special BMW/ ipod cord, and ever since i unplugged it, my ipod won't play. the screen is completely blank, except for when i plug it into the usb cord or the bmw. in the BMW it works, but the usb will only show the battery sign with about a quarter of it charged. I tried to restart it, but it wont work! HELP!

Have you tried updating the iPods software and restore with the latest iPod updater? The Latest version is 03-23-2006 and can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

A restore wipes the iPod clean, once done you will use iTUnes to load the iPod back up with music. More on restore can be found here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
