Iphone 5 charger keeps on breaking.

Over the past five months, I have purchased over five different charger cables for my iphone 5 which i bought new in December. For some reason, after months, weeks or even days, he latest charger stops working. Sometimes the phone is plugged in and it doesn't respond at all to the cable, other times, the cable only functions when in a certain position. I am so angry at this as I'm spending and will continue to spend a lot of money to charge my phone. Am I doing something wrong? (This was never an issue with my iphone 3 and the cable even worked when the connector head seemed half broken off). What should I do? And also, is anyone else having this issue, because if not, then it must be an issue with my actual phone, no?

Maybe they don't take the time to report it. It was only after my third cord broke that I decided to complain and after the dismal customer service I received when I called the Apple Store.

Like I said in my post I had to make anappointment to bring in my cord and there were none available that day. Since I need my phone for work I could not wait until next week.

Does cable tip mean the housing the cable connects with, or the cable itself?

Try cleaning the charging port... it may have lint in it... many do.

Thanks for the advice. I have been through a can or two of compressed air and although it helps a little, it hasn't solved the problem.

The cable is not called or labled a "charger" by Apple in any country.

I am having the same problem with my iPod touch 5 charger. It will not charge and I am afraid I will never be able to use it again. This is making me very mad. 😠

Or just go to walmart, target, best buy, or any other store that sells electronics and buy a BELKIN. 6-7 cables and you keep buying the defective apple cables?

Have you checked out the connector? It's the one thing common to all of those cables. Peek inside with a magnifying glass. See any dirt or lint? It doesn't take much grime to block a good connection.

wrap each end of the charger in electrical tape to prevent it from bending...had mine for 3 months now....
