when i connect my iphone to my imac, the only icon is a camera icon. i can't open up the sync process in itunes. how do icorrect this please...thanks

The only thing that pops up is the iPhoto on your iMac? Have you opened the iTunes application? You can sync your device from iTunes, make sure it is up to date, and you can refer to the link below for how to sync with iTunes.
yes, when i connect the phone to my imac iphoto opens and under devices i get an icon with a camera. if i open itunes, and click the tab "file" then on the drop down click devices, the sync and other options are all grayed out. because of this i can't get into manage my photos, apps, etc. weird, this just happened since last update. cant figure this out.
