I lost my iphone and can't replace it. I got a simple phone but my friends who sent me iMessages can no longer text me, they keep falling into iMessage which I can no longer receive. Help

I believe your number will no longer be in the imessage system 30 days after it's no longer used for imessage
Delete the phone from your profile in https://supportprofile.apple.com
I did remove the iPhone from my profile but still, some of my friends still can't send me regular SMS.....
Is this the AppleTrap?
Get your friends to change your entry in their contacts list - to use your new phone number instead of anything else they have in there.
