I just removed duplicates from iTunes and now match hangs up on step 1. Help?

I recently got a new MacBook air and after some work, had iTunes running well. There were a number of duplicate files. I went through these last night and removed the duplicates. Today, itunes match keeps restarting and hanging up on step 1. Additionally, my playlists have all disappeared. They are still present on my other icloud devices (iPhone and iPad). Any thoughts....help!!
