iphone 3gs, iOS 6.1.3
Done it before but since d/l iOS 6 can't seem to find how to transfer a .mov video from email or text msg to camera roll. When I hold down on the attachment all I get is 'Mail" or "Quick Look"
I have a couple of videos our kids sent by text or email (don't remember) and I saved them so not sure what's happened. Like I stated the only thing I've done is updated to iOS6.

According to the iPhone User Guide you are doing it correctly, http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf found on page 51:
"Save an attached photo or video: Touch and hold the photo or video, then tap Save Image or Video. It’s saved to your Camera Roll in the Photos app."
I would recommend starting with our iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant found here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/application/
I would start at step 3:
Close App
If only a single app has stopped responding or closes on launch, try the following:

Tried your suggestion and the only options I keep getting are 'Mail" or "Quick Look". I've saved videos to camera roll before but not now.
Not sure what the app instruction is about. I don't have any apps d/l on the phone in regards to videos.

I am also having this issue. I send videos to myself so I can post them on instagram several times a week. Now it won't give me a save to camera roll option.
Hi,
I had the same problem, than I have a solution.
Open your text message,
play the video,
tap on the bottom left icon (box with up arrow)
a list of options like Message, mail, facebook, vimeo... appears,
share it on Facebook or
tap on the icon below to save video (box with down arrow) to save it in your camera roll.
Open Camera Roll from your Iphone tapping the Photos icon.
Share it on your favorite website such youtube, facebook...
