My 83 yo dad has a 1st gen iPad. He has so many photos he would like to view on his HD TV; so I purchased Apple TV for him. But I am having a hard time setting this up. I have been able to get his music on Apple TV, but he really wants the photos. Help

My dad has a 1st gen iPad. He is 83 yo. I recently purchased an Apple TV for him because he loves Netflix and I told him that he could view his photos via the television. BUT, I'm not having success with Photostream. Help me.....I've been researching and trying everything I can and so far, no luck. He keeps asking about the photos, and I'm losing patience with myself and Apple TV. Can anyone help???? Thank you.
