When I plug in my ipod into my computer itunes only freezes, my computer is still functional. when I am listening to music on itunes and I plug in my ipod the music keeps playing, and when I unplug my iPod iTunes unfreezes instantly. What is wrong?

I have already tried this. Also this doesn't just happen on my computer, it has happened on every computer I have tried with the same result.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try another cable
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
iTunes freezes when my iPod is pluged in.
