If my Logic Board goes out and I resale the computer can my pictures be retrieved?

My iMac went out it still turns on and all but it does not do anything other than that. I took it in to get repaired and they told me that the LOGIC BOARD went out. My question is If I resale the computer to a friend of mine and she fixes the LOGIC BOARD can my PICTURES AND PERSONAL INFO be retrived after she has fixed it? Or if she installs a new logic board will it all be wiped out? Or can I retrived my pictures in anyway from my computer with the LOGIC BOARD being mest up?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Replacing the logic board does not affect the content of the hard drive. All material on the hard drive can be accessed once the logic board is replaced. Selling the computer without first fixing the logic board, or having the hard drive removed will mean giving the buyeer all information on the hard drive.
