I am tired of Address Book...

I am tired of Address Book erasing some entires when I attache my IPad to my iMAC. I've tried to format it not to do that, but without success. Can anyone recommend a good contact program that will work with my other MAC programs?

I have a customer that swears by Cobook. Haven't used it myself, so I cannot say for sure, but it's a starting point I guess..
