Q: time machine

my airport utility cant find my time machine - what am i doing wrong?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

    It can be lost.. like Bo Peep's sheep.

     

    Plug it into the computer by ethernet.. completely isolated from the network.. if necessary and it still doesn't show, do a full factory reset. It can be due to the TC being in the wrong mode.

     

    Factory reset.. hold in reset button .. power on TC.. keep holding in reset until the front LED flashes rapidly .. about 10sec. No data from hard disk is lost.. but the router settings are restored to default.. ie router mode.
