Is there a Way of Recovering Unsaved Work in Pages '09 Trial?

I thought that I had bought Pages as I have found the Mac version of Word to be frustrating to use. So fired up the Pages app on my Mac and completed a unit of work for my job using it. However when I went to save, Pages told me that I had to buy the software as I was out of my 30-day trial. "No problem" I thought, so clicked 'buy' and I was taken over to the Mac App Store where I purchased Pages. However, when I clicked off the window that told me to enter a serial number or buy a serial number for Pages, the whole app closed. Now does this mean that all of my night's work has been lost or is there a way of retrieving it?
