iPhone 5 Battery Charging

To keep the iPhone 5 battery in good health, at what percentage should I charge it? Also should I let the battery go flat and then recharge to calibrate the battery?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1

Hi jackk088!

I have found a couple articles that might help you with some of your questions about battery usage on your iPhone. The basic article about the batteries in Apple devices can be found here:

Apple - Batteries

There is also an article about iPhone batteries specifically, and that article can be found here:

These articles should be able to provide you with the information you are looking for. Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I haven't added the extension of Apple Care so I only have one year with Apple, after that one year can I purchase extension of Apple Care?

How much is the battery replacement in GBP if my Apple Care expired?

About the statement below, does it mean charge it to 100% and use all the battery to 0% and let the battery go flat?

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

You can always use a third-party way of replacing the battery.

If you perfer to replace it yourself, here is a Step by Step instructions on how to:

Just becareful about most third-party replacements. If you use an unauthoized store, it could VOID your iPhone and no support will be given after.

As for me, I always use iFixandRepair:
