Aug 19, 2014 5:03 PM in response to Chant71by DFLMaye,Absolutely unbelievable! Kneeing it worked--like a magical charm! I was so dreading taking my mom's iPad to the carnival of an Apple store. Found this post, and Riley's suggestion. Tried it as I, too, like many others was extremely desperate, and it worked!!!! Thanks sooo much! Riley is an Apple rock star--totally!

Aug 27, 2014 6:48 AM in response to barbara424by PrivateSchoolITDude,Twisting it actually worked! When I first found this discussion I thought "no way that'll work". But, since my only other option was sending it away I figured I'd try it. Thanks everyone.

Sep 15, 2014 12:33 PM in response to barbara424by ryanvoight,HOLY COW!
My iPad has been inoperable for 7 or 8 months now. In fact, I just went out and bought a new one, put this one in a drawer intending to do something with it later and then forgot about it. I just pulled it out of the drawer so I could try to sell it on Cragislist as a broken iPad when I thought I might look into fixing it one last time. I came across this post, dropped the iPad screen-down on the carpet, slapped the back of it, picked it up, and now it works! I'm not sure what I'll with it now, but if nothing else, it's at least worth more functioning than broken. Thanks, Riley!

Oct 5, 2014 4:51 PM in response to barbara424by sugarkrush,This happened to my cousin's iPad mini this morning!!! I have been on the web looking for things to do ALL day!!!
Hitting it over my knee didn't help. Neither did twisting the screen any which way.
What did help.....my dad smacking it glass down again his bare thigh. So THANK YOU RILEY AND JESUS!!! We don't have to buy a new one!

Feb 12, 2015 3:49 PM in response to Staci77by Dczernia,My lovely 7 year old has dropped his iPad many times. Smacking the back always did the trick. Recently, that trick stopped working. I twisted it and bonked it on my knee. No luck. Someone mentioned hitting it with your knee by the headphone jack. I tried that. No luck. Then I wondered how hard I should smack, so I smashed it on my now bruised knee. It started coming back. Colors are a little wonky but in the past some additional smacking usually works. I do suggest making sure you have charged it for a full day before trying. Good luck. Now if someone can help with me trying to type in this forum via iphone 5. So buggy. Grrrrr.

Apr 17, 2015 10:29 AM in response to barbara424by teosmat,I applied the scientific and absolutely professional method of both kneeing and twisting, as dear fellow Riley Stewart suggested. Of course it worked like a charm. Thanks!

This is totally mad but... Yes smacking the Apple on the back pretty hard a few times got it back up and running instantly.
I think I'll go and fix my television with a hammer now.
***LIFE SAVER... THANKS***
