Do I need something like "Remote"?

Hi,

I'm fully prepared to draw a blank on this....

I have an intel iMac and an old G4. They are networked via router as I use one of the drives as a backup.

iMac is fabulous. G4 was fabulous but it no longer has a good monitor, but does have an old version of Cubase which I'd like to access, and play about with.

Can I run Cubase on the G4 but control it from the iMac? My version of Cubase is not built for intel so I can't install on the iMac.

Does this make sense?

Hopefull it does but I fear not possible or it's gonna cost me lots!

thanks

G

ps iMac is on Snow Leopard, G4 is on Tiger

imac 2.66 i5 4g-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Hi G,

On the G4 in System Preferences>Sharing, enable...

Screen Sharing, File Sharing, & Web Sharing

Then find the IP of the G4 & on the iMac...

Finder>Go menu>Connect to Servers..., type in vnc://ip.of.another.computer, like...

vnc://10.0.1.5

vnc://192.168.1.3

If the G4 is running 10.4.11, you'll need Chicken of the VNC on it...
