Have a 16GB 3GS that's up to 4.3.4; can I get it any higher? w/o jailbreaking?

My title above does leave out some important info: just bought a 32GB iPhone 5 last night... and can't push any of my 14GB of data from old phone to new. =(

Have way too much data to try to manually transfer it... was hoping to update the 4.3.4 to anything that could be read by the AT&T store (so they can mirror it). Anyone have any ideas for me to try? Right now I'm carrying 2 phones: the old one for the data & the new one for calls and texts... fairly annoying.

Would really appreciate any help possible.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.3, 16GB

You can update your 3gs to 6.1.3. Some people have had bad experiences with iphone 3gs on 6.1.3 such as poor battery life, laggy apps and everything else, but I have not had any of those problems. If your iphone has been jailbroken and is jailbroken right now, do not try to upgrade it because it will lock your device. Hope I helped. Cheers mate 🙂

Thanks VERY MUCH for all the help. Took hours, but they're both up to date. Using the old one as an iPod and the new one is my "daily driver" now. =) After reading the 3 links, the only problem I had (think it was my fault) was I thought I had transferred all (500+) my songs into iTunes before I upgraded the old phone, but did not... and of course they're all wiped now... so I have a few hours of CD popping to do now. =)
