How do you know?  What were you trying to connect?

    Ciao.

First Audio Console. Then I tried Ipod, Iphone. None of them are recognized. They do work on my girlfriend's computer.

I do not know anything about audio consoles nor do I have an iPhone.

My iPod also does not show on the desktop but it is recognized in iTunes,  Check if that is the case for your MBP.

Do you have the appropriate boxes checked in Finder Preferences?

If you have an external HDD, connect it to your MBP and see if it is recognized.  If it does not show on the desktop, check Disk Utility.

Have you tried all USB ports?  It could be that the problem lies in your MBP.

    Ciao.
