ipod nano 7th generation does not display in itunes - how do I add more music

Itunes does not recognize my Ipod Nano 7th generation as a device. How do I get it to display so I can add more music?

iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes.

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows.

iPod doesn't appear in iTunes or on the Mac desktop.

See if any of these help.
