SprintTV and Apple TV mirroring

I got the SprintTV app for my Sprint iPhone 5. Seems like a good app, works well on WiFi, and all that. But as best as I can figure out, I am unable to make it the video mirror through my AppleTV. Some of my other apps, like YouTube have that little icon which allows me to mirror my iPhone to Apple TV.

Am I doing something wrong, or can apps actually block streaming to Apple TV? Of course, if they can, why? Silly. I guess my other alternative is an HDMI connector from my iPhone to my TV, but that's just a mess.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1, 32GB, Sprint, White, No problems

Yes many apps block AirPlay mirroring. Not sure what SprintTV is, but if it has anything to do with licensed TV shows, it will almost certainly block AirPlay.

I should have figured that. SprintTV streams TV shows, and it has more shows than say Hulu, so I like it. But it only works on my iPhone. It only works on the iPad if you have a Sprint enabled one.

I guess I'll use the HDMI connector, as annoying as that is.
