How to unsync a calendar on iPhone 5?

I subscribed to a MLB baseball schedule and synced it with my standard iPhone calendar. I want to get the entire schedule off my phone but don't know how and the website does not give any suggestions. I thought I was "deleting" the calendar and starting from scratch but it didn't work! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
