Q: Internet speed dropping drastically with each airport express extension

I have an Air Extreme base station connected to a cable modem on level 3. I have extended this network usin air expresses. One on level 2 and the other on level 1 of my property. The Air Extreme is the primary and the DHCP server. On my iMac which is wirelessly connected to the extreme i am getting a speedtest.net reading of http://www.speedtest.net/result/2694336383.png. Internet speed at the 2 express base stations drops down from 115mbs to around 15mbs. Anyone have any suggestions please?

Inherent to the design of an extended network is some bandwidth loss due to the overhead required to maintain that extended network. In addition, several forms of Wi-Fi interference may also be the cause. However, you may find that by a slight placement adjustment of each of your base stations may either solve the issue you are having or significantly reduce it.
