I need to use Type I CF cards for a lot of my equipment. My USB and Firewire ports are all full. So short of getting a hub, I was wondering if I could make use of the SD card slot on my Macbook Pro -- does anyone make an SD to CF adapter? so I could put a CF card in my SD slot?

I've never seen a CF-to-SD card adapter. CF cards are way bigger (physically) than SD cards. (There are SD-to-CF card adapters, the SD card fits inside the CF adapter case).
What you need to do is get a card reader. There are many available at very reasonable prices, all connect via USB. Transcendis one of many.
Get a CF card reader and daisy chain it on your USB or Firewire bus as appropriate.

Thanks for the info. Like I said, I'm out of USB / Firewire. There is no where to daisy chain. So before getting a hub, I just wanted to see if there were any options as far as use with existing SD port
The two formats are so different it is best to just look for a card reader that will handle a range of memory cards, SanDisk, Lexar are a couple that are good. I have the Lexar and it works like a champ.
