Ipod touch 5th gen battery life

I have a new itouch and its a week and my problem is the battery gets empty easily that I have to charge it everyday. I use it for internet browsing, gaming sometimes music. Is it normal? I charged it one time with the battery icon on red until it charge fully and it only took 2 hours 15 mins approximately. It's supposed to be 4 hours right?

I believe the battery actually has a quite significant memory, so when you don't run it down all the way, it gets shorter and shorter, but when you DO run it down, it increases! Doing this, I have substantially raised my battery life to about 9 hours of use (playing games, videos, movies, ect...) before it runs down. I also had a 3G iPod touch, and with it I have found that these effects really do (or at least seem to) work.

I had my 5th gen Touch since June 2013. When I got it I could go 4-6 days without charging it. I resisted upgrading my OS until December 2013. Well, that did it. As soon as I upgraded my battery life went to crap. Now I can't even get through a full day without it dying on me. I have shut off every external service I can shut off and I still cannot extend the battery life longer than 10 hours. Continuous play only gets me about 4 - 5 hours. Personally, this renders the device, for me, practically useless.
