Can't install the software for the HP Photosmart 2700 series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.

I am trying to install my HP Photosmart 2700 wireless printer. I already have this printer installed on my other MacBook air and on my iMac.

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

I think I see what the problem is. Mac PCs have an internal database that tells them what's compatible, and what's not. All you should need to do is run Apple Software Updates before trying to install the printer. Even if there are no updates that need to be installed, the Mac's internal database will still be updated. Once you've done that the printer should install without any problems. For more information see the document linked below.

Hello,

I tried running the Apple Software Update but it was still givingme the same error while trying to install the printer.

However, I closed all applications and shutdown the laptop completely. After I turned it on again and then ran the Apple Software Update again. I then tried reinstalling the printer and all went smooth.

So, Thank You for your suggestion. It was really helpful and my problem is solved.
