Q: Can't transfer photographs from computer to Ipad

I am trying to transfer photographs from my computer onto my Ipad.  I have loaded ITunes onto my computer.  I was able to successfully load one file of photographs from my computer onto the Ipad.  But, when I try to transfer another file of photographs, the original set disappears.  In other words, I can't seem to get more than one file of photographs from my compute onto the Ipad.

Copy your new photographs into the original folder that you transferred through iTunes, then copy the WHOLE thing again. Basically, you are updating the old folder with your new photographs. In iTunes it seems you can only have one folder  at a time.

As stated above by funbrett, you must place all of the photo folders that you want to sync to the iPad into one main photos folder. iTunes can only sync from one main photos folder at a time. You can have any number of sub folders in that main folder from which you can choose - but you can only select one main folder in the Sync Photos From heading in the photos tab of iTunes.

If you switch main photos folders, the photos in the first folder will be removed from the device,

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
