Hi dawn209,
iTunes Gifts are sent as a redemption code to the recipient's email, so as part of setting up the gift you would need to know the recipient's email address.
4. Type in the email address for the person you want to send the iTunes Gift. If you like, add a message. Pick the day you want the gift to be sent and click Next.
