Older version of Keynote are unable to open files created by newer versions.
What version of Keynote do you have?
To find out, open Keynote and in the menu bar go to: Keynote > About Keynote
Yoy can buy the latest version by using the App Store.
Click on the App Store icon in the Dock, or by double-clicking the App Store icon in the Finder in the Applications folder.
I have the same problem. In my dock appears two different keynote icons, but the newest one doesn`t open. The older one can open but appears the same message described.
