I am trying to make the enter key on the number pad work and not really getting anywhere ... I can't see anywhere in the settings where I can change this ... has anyone got any ideas how I can change this key to be an enter / return key?

Change from what? What is happening when you do hit the enter key? Anything?
Use a brushed vacuum hose and/or a can of compressed air to remove any trapped debris. Pop the key off if need be.

It would appear I have got a duff Keyboard! unfortunately the Apple care has run out so if I want it fixing then I will need to put my hand in my pocket!
