My MacBoook Air has developed a bulge in the case. What can cause this

The bulge is below the keyboard in the bottom left corner, and it is quite a phisical bulge. I have no idea what caused this.

Nothing spilt on it, not dropped, just took it out of its case and the bulge was there!

Any suggestions would be appreciated

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Most likely candidate is a swelling battery. Take the Air to an Apple store genius bar for diagnosis by the techs before it gets worse.
