Sound not working properly

I have a macbook pro with retina display, late 2012 model. For the past month or two, my sound does not work properly. When I got to watch videos or tv shows, my sound stops working till I click on the time bar to skip back, or skip ahead. When I do that, the sound will start working again properly, but only for about 10 seconds. The videos though still is playing. I know it is not the sites, because I use my other retina display macbook, and it works completely fine. Any ideas, what to do?

Hello Roman223,

I was looking into the issue you are describing and think I have a way for you to isolate what is causing the issue. We have an article to do just that, named Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199.

When you go to the article it has 2 links that have different steps depending on which item you click.

If the issue occurs in one application only

If the issue occurs in various applications, or in Mac OS X

If it only happens in, say iTunes for example, then you want to click the first option. If it happens no matter where you watch any video, then you will want to click the second link.

All the best,

Sterling
