Q: Memory upgrade for mid-2007 Mac Mini

What kind of ram memory for mid-2007 mac mini? I bought 2 x 2GB Crucial DDR2 200-pinSODIMM chips, but mini won't boot with them. They fit fine into the mini, just won't boot. Return to the original 256MB chips and system boots normally. Is the memory size a problem? Mini limitation in recognizing 2GB chips?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

These Mac mini models have these memory specifications:

    Number of memory slots2
Base memoryConfigure to order; at least 512 MB or DDR2 SDRAM (one 256 MB SO-DIMM in each slot)
    Maximum memory2 GB
    Memory card specificationsCompatible:
    - Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (SO-DIMM) format
    - 667 MHz, PC2-5300, DDR2 compliant
    - Unbuffered
    - Nonparity
    - 200-pin
    Not compatible:
    - Registers or buffers

Additional notesFor best performance, use two SO-DIMMs (one in each slot) of the same DIMM size (example: two 512 MB SO-DIMMs).
