Q: Corrupt iPod classic

Wish i can spank this corrupt classic ha!

Hoping you can help me here too!

The last few days, my Ipod classic has wiped all the songs off there as it says it failed to sync. I've restored it 3 times and when it gets to about 300 songs on there, uploading gets very slow and happens again, erasing everything.

Here's my results, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Try the DFU Restore and Break up large transfers methods. Check for zero pending after the restore. Repeat until things work out, or you get bored of trying.

Thanks for the help - done all that now. DFU and everything. But my results are exactly the same, still got 16 pending sectors.

Is there any other way of trying to get rid of them? As I can start putting songs back on there again, but know when it gets to around 300, the same thing is bound to start happening.

Try formatting the drive to see if that clears the pendings.

So from reading this entire thread i have to assume my 2009 160gb ipod classic is poked. After ITunes said it needed to be updated in May, it kept making me restore (over 6x) my ipod (which worked beautifully before) and then when it finally did restore and sync, some of the songs just skip over and don't play. I have followed your advice here and see no numbers like mine, so thought I would share......

apart from those all normal.

as i live somewhere that there is absolutely no apple support, don't suppose you have hardware repair manual ah ha ha ha.  if it is done, then that will end my apple relationship i think.

Yes, I'm afraid that looks terminal. There are third parties that can supply and/or fit replacement hard drives.

Try the DFU restore or reformat to see if you can clear away the pending sectors.

Actually when i tried to restore in itunes at the end appears a sign saying that couldn't be restore mis 1429...

Have you tried both methods? If not try the other one.

tried both same problem...

miss 1429 still shows when i tried.

Don't think I have other ideas then.

My max temp is 255 and it works decently fine, plays music and everything

then again my minimum is 68 celsius and the current is 27 celcius lol
