How can I get windows to recognize my ipod touch?

I have had my touch for some item and it has connected and synched until the last 2-3 times I've tried it. It charges slowly but does not show up in windows as a device nor in iTunes. I have been thru the troublehsooters with no success.

Thanks for any help.

Did you do everything here:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

Including

Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

or

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

New cable and different USB port?

Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Yest try resetting.

Does the iPod charge?

- See:

iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Do you have iTunes 11 installed?

I'll try resetting tonight, it is at home.

Yes it does charge slowly but does not show the battery charging as it used to or as the others do. I have 2 iPhones, a classic, a shuffle, an iPad and 2 nanos, these all perform properly.

This is a 2nd Gen touch 8G and the cables have been used to charge other units successfully, I have tried both the computer and the small ac adapter to charge.

I do have itunes 11.02.??

If the reset doesn't help, I'll try the genius bar.

Thanks

Tony
