Did you do everything here:
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause
Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem
I have tried everything listed except a different computer. I tried different USB ports but it should be noted that I have other apple devices that do work with the same cable and ports within minutes of trying the failing touch.
Would reseting the touch be of any help? I haven't tried that yet.
Yest try resetting.
Does the iPod charge?
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Do you have iTunes 11 installed?
I'll try resetting tonight, it is at home.
Yes it does charge slowly but does not show the battery charging as it used to or as the others do. I have 2 iPhones, a classic, a shuffle, an iPad and 2 nanos, these all perform properly.
This is a 2nd Gen touch 8G and the cables have been used to charge other units successfully, I have tried both the computer and the small ac adapter to charge.
I do have itunes 11.02.??
If the reset doesn't help, I'll try the genius bar.
